A Gentle Passing

Picture
It was a gentle passing,
Like a leaf blowing in the wind,
You were there,
I was unaware
Then you were gone again.

I was unprepared by what
You brought to me that sunny day,
You broke my stride when I tried to hide,
Then again you went away.
Are you real,
Or is my imagination,
Running away from me?
Do I bide my time,
And let night’s rhyme,
Take me where I need to be?

I know you’re real now,
‘Cause you’re with me once again,

At the days' beginning, there at the end
You’re my one, my only, true friend.

You’ve changed my life,
You’re my dream, my wife.
